Interview on Morgan Journal podcast

Morgan Smith came to visit on a sunny autumn day to record a podcast with me.

Launched yesterday, it is just the first episode in what is destined to be an inspiring collection of stories with creative women. We spoke a lot about my homebody lifestyle, my move to the mountains, and the transition into freelancing full-time. Inevitably, birds are mentioned quite a lot too.

My career has been full of adventures, and many of you might be new here therefore don’t know much of my story. So, if you are curious, I would love for you to listen wherever you might get your podcasts – maybe you will learn something new about me, or perhaps hear something that resonates with you too.

It’s a funny feeling to look back on these photographs from May, knowing that my life as a ‘mountain girl’ has come to a close. Moving house recently has not felt like the end of just a chapter, but a bookend on a shelf of mountain stories filled with flowers, birds, dogs, friends, and some crazy storms.

@cesar_on_safari and I both accomplished so much while living in the mountains – we were never contained to life there, instead it was a wonderful place to retreat to at the end of each day.

Morgan asks me in the podcast: “what’s next?” Well, who truly knows. Life in our new 100-year-old house feels thrilling, and I am sure that all kinds of books will fill the next shelf.

For now, I find comfort in the fairywrens that visit our backyard and the peaceful yet powerful walls of this timber house on a little hill that we now call home.
