I have always had a thing for churches.
While I went to church as a child, I now do not consider myself part of any religion. But this doesn’t harm my love affair with the architecture.
And truly, who doesn’t love a church conversion? I don’t think I have met anyone who doesn’t.
This little church situated along the Hawkesbury River in Lower Portland was our third stop during our road trip in July.
After being on my radar for many years, what a joy it was to finally visit and experience the space. Tessa was an amazing host, and while I didn’t get to meet her, she went to extraordinary lengths to post my newly purchased Ink Gin back to Brisbane for me after I left it behind!
As we drove into the village it had begun raining, and we stopped to pick up a giant bag of mandarins from a roadside stall.
We didn’t do much at all during out stay except relaxing and reading, and that was just perfect with the pitter patter of rain outside.
